Dick, Frederick J.

(1856-1927). Born in Dublin, Dick worked for several years as a civil engineer and Head of Harbours and Lighthouse Board for Ireland. In 1888 he joined the Theosophical Society (TS) and became a personal student of Helena P. Blavatsky. As Secretary of the Dublin Lodge and editor of The Irish Theosophist, Dick worked with William B. YEATS, George RUSSEL (AE) and others to revive the spirit and knowledge of Irish antiquity. In 1905 he and his wife Annie joined the staff of the Theosophical Headquarters at Point Loma where he taught in its schools, specializing in mathematical astronomy, meteorology, seismology and Mayan chronology. He was a member of Katherine TINGLEY'S Cabinet at Point Loma.
